Case No 540 : The factory exploded and the fire burned the whole body. Lai Jin Yun waited for your kind assistance!

Public funding of Lai Jin Yun One year's living expenses and children's education fees RM48,000

A glass substrate manufacturing plant in Shah Alam, Selangor, suddenly exploded on January 15 this year, causing four employees in the plant to be burned by fire. One of them was the most serious, with 75% of his body was burned. He was a male worker Lai Jin Yun.

After being burned by the fire, Lai Jin Yun (54 years old) was rushed to the intensive care unit of the hospital. He struggled with the death condition for more than two months and until 2nd April he managed to go through this process and was discharged. Leaving the hospital did not mean recovery. Lai Jin Yun still has wounds all over his body. He has not fully recovered, and he is not able to get well soon. He cannot move around, he can only lie down, he has become skinny, and he is totally considered as two different persons if compare to the past.

The explosion destroyed a happy family. As the economic backbone of the family, and Lai Jin Yun cannot afford to fall down, and now he is still under the period of convalescence and it is still difficult to predict his recovery date. He just watched as his children were going to school and his wife would like continue her livelihood, but his family had no income and he was really anxious too. He was seriously traumatized, and his heart was even feeling more painful. It was a really pitiful situation.

Most of Lai Jin Yun’s muscles and veins were burned by fire and, even if he can recover, he cannot return to the same physical condition as a normal person and cannot work too. If the treatment is right, including the success of physical rehabilitation treatment, Mr. Lai has the opportunity to recover slowly with a little bit of basic mobility. However, the doctor mentioned to Mr. Lai's wife Madam Chen Yu Xia, whether her husband can recover and how long does it take to recover, it is rather difficult to say.Let us bless Lai Jin Yun together, hoping that a miracle will emerge, and let him recover soon and be able to continue serving the society.

Mr. Lai has filed a claim with SOCSO Insurance, but SOCSO Insurance has not responded to him yet. Even if the SOCSO insurance provides compensation, to Lai family the compensation is insignificant because ultimately the long-term living expenses and education expenses cannot be solved.

Lai Jin Yun is already in great difficulty, he has no income at all, and his wife has to take care of the daily life of him and his children, she is unable to work too. Madam Chen Yu Xia was originally a babysitter, helping others to take care of their children, and earning RM1300 a month. Now she has to take care of the whole family and cannot work. She can even afford to pay for her children education expanses because she has totally without any income at this moment. How can she manage to go through this scenario?

They have three sons, and all of them are still studying. The eldest son is Wei Jie who is 19 years old, the second son is Wei Cong who is 15 years old, and the youngest son is Wei Xin who is 14 years old.

The eldest son, Wei Jie, is studying at Rahman University in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. Since he lived in Rawang and was inconvenient to go to school, he had to rent a room near the university. The monthly living expenses and rent are RM1,000. His two younger brothers are both studying in secondary school. The bus fare and food expenses are considered with an average of RM400 per person. Lai Jin Yun has no way to cope with the expenses. Fortunately, the old house where he lives does not need to pay rent. However, the monthly electricity as well as water utilities fee is RM300.

Other than applying medicine, Lai Jin Yun go through physical therapy too. However, he really could not afford to take out the money to support his family.

In addition, Lai Jin Jun has to take a taxi from his home at Rawang to the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital for his follow-up treatments and to buy medicines (his family does not have a car). The transportation cost alone has exceeded RM100 per trip. Other than this, he still has to worry about his family monthly food expenses too.

The Lai family has appointed the DAAI Community Public Funding Platform to launch public funding and collect donations from all over the country and abroad too.

The monthly expenditure budget of Lai Family is RM4000. Details are as follows:

RM300 --------Water and Electricity utilities

RM1000 - The room rental and living expenses of the eldest son who is studying at university

RM800 -------- The secondary school fees of the second son and the youngest son (including bus transportation and food)

RM1900 ------The to and fro taxi charges of Lai Jin Yun from Rawang to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, follow-up treatments, purchase of medicines, as well as food for all the household necessities and miscellaneous expenses of the whole family.

The annual expenditure budget is RM48,000 (12 X RM4,000)

The Platform of DAAI call upon the enthusiastic community to donate actively to Mr. Lai Jin Yun so that he can raise enough money and with peace of mind; also, his wife and children will not face the impact of living expenses and education expenses.
