Case No. 2375: He suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and chronic kidney disease, making life already challenging for him. He now needs to undergo major surgery to treat his laryngeal cancer. As the surgery is expected to take more than 12 hours, a specialized surgical scissor is required to help reduce the risks associated with a prolonged operation.
The required instrument is a SanAgile 9cm Curved Scissor, a specialized surgical instrument used during surgery for cutting tissue and assisting with bleeding control.

WAN YEN HOR is now having great difficulty speaking. When he responds, his voice is low and hoarse, as though his vocal cords have been severely damaged. Even speaking a single sentence appears to be difficult for him, and he also experiences difficulty breathing.
In March this year, he began experiencing discomfort in his throat and would easily become breathless when walking up and down the stairs. As he had previously suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis in 2023, he was required to undergo further medical examinations.
In May this year, he was officially diagnosed with Stage 3 Laryngeal Carcinoma. After assessing his condition, doctors determined that he must undergo a Total Laryngectomy, Bilateral Neck Dissection and Thyroidectomy as soon as possible. Without timely treatment, his condition could continue to worsen and may eventually become life-threatening.

WAN YEN HOR is single, and both of his parents have passed away. He previously worked as a plumber. Although his income was modest, he was at least able to support himself through his own work. However, the sudden onset of cancer has left him in poor health and unable to continue working. He now has to rely on his limited savings to get by, leaving him unable to afford the specialized surgical instrument he urgently needs.
He therefore reached out to us for assistance, hoping to receive the necessary support and undergo his surgery as soon as possible.
After we reviewed his circumstances, we decided to assist WAN YEN HOR in raising RM1,900 to purchase the SanAgile 9cm Curved Scissor required for his surgery.
RM1,900 may not seem like a large amount, but for a single elderly man who has lost his source of income and has no family to rely on while battling cancer and multiple chronic illnesses alone, this amount represents another difficult hurdle he must overcome.
