Case No. 2356: On the morning of her passing, her daughter appeared to be fine and had even finished her lunch. By the afternoon, however, her life had suddenly come to an end. Life is unpredictable, leaving the family deeply saddened.
Su Chai Ping passed away in the hospital on 1 October 2026. According to the death report, she passed away at 1:09 p.m. that day due to severe sepsis with multi-organ failure.
Her mother, Ho Lai Fong, told the social worker that in August this year, her daughter was hospitalized after both of her legs became severely swollen. Medical examinations found a bacterial infection, which subsequently caused fluid to accumulate in her lungs. After receiving treatment, the family thought that her condition had stabilized. Unexpectedly, that hospitalization became the final time the mother and daughter would spend together.
Before her daughter passed away that afternoon, her mother had planned to visit her that evening instead because she had difficulty walking. Sadly, this decision became an irreversible regret.
Su Chai Ping was the eldest daughter in the family. After her divorce, she raised her 16-year-old daughter on her own. She also suffered from diabetes and was a person with disabilities. One of her legs had been amputated below the knee, while the other had lost all its toes. She had been unable to work for the past five to six years.
Now, her elderly parents are both retired. Her mother, Ho Lai Fong, is also a person with disabilities and has to care for her husband, who has suffered a stroke, as well as her granddaughter, who is still studying. Several years ago, Su Chai Ping’s younger brother also passed away due to illness, leaving the family with one less family member who could share the burden of daily living expenses.
For many years, the family has mainly relied on government financial assistance to make ends meet. Faced with the sudden funeral expenses, her elderly parents simply cannot afford the costs. With no other options, Ho Lai Fong sought assistance from us.
We will handle the deceased’s funeral arrangements in full, including the body transfer, coffin arrangements, and memorial service, as well as the funeral procession and cremation. We sincerely appeal to kind-hearted people across the country to come forward and help so that Su Chai Ping may find peace and complete her final journey. For anyone who wishes to sponsor the full funeral expenses, you may contact the social workers for more details. Thank you.
We will hold a Buddhist memorial ceremony for Su Chai Ping on 2 October 2026 (Friday) at Kwong Tong Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur (Hall J). The cremation will take place on 3 October 2026 (Saturday), after which the ashes will be placed in accordance with the family’s arrangements.
