Case No. 2353:Seven-month-old MUHAMMAD HAFIS was born prematurely at 36 weeks. Today, he lies in a hospital bed, relying on medical equipment to breathe. He has been diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease – Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), commonly known as a "hole in the heart." His condition is life-threatening, and he urgently requires heart surgery.
Unfortunately, the RM60,000 needed for the operation is far beyond the means of his impoverished Myanmar family.

The young father, AKTAR HUSSEIN NUR KALAM (23 years old), shared with us that he was away at work. Due to the lack of transportation and language barriers, his wife, SABEKUN NAHAR SALIM ULLAH (26 years old) had to give birth at home.
As soon as he returned, the couple immediately brought their newborn to the hospital for a check-up, where doctors discovered that the baby was suffering from pneumonia. When MUHAMMAD HAFIS reached three months of age, he began experiencing severe breathing difficulties. Further examinations eventually confirmed that he had a hole in his heart.
Because of the severity of his condition, he had to be admitted to the hospital immediately. Since then, he has been dependent on oxygen delivered through medical tubing to breathe. From the day he was admitted until now, he has never been well enough to return home.

AKTAR HUSSEIN previously worked as a renovation laborer. A few months ago, he moved his family from Terengganu to Selangor in search of better opportunities. However, just one week after securing a new job, he was forced to resign to care for his critically ill son.
As MUHAMMAD HAFIS is a foreign patient, his medical expenses exceeded RM10,000 within just one month. Overwhelmed by the mounting hospital bills, AKTAR HUSSEIN considered discharging his son. However, the doctors firmly warned him that without immediate heart surgery, the baby's life would be in grave danger.
Desperate to save his child, he borrowed money from relatives and friends, sought help wherever he could, and reached out to numerous charitable organisations. After more than a month of relentless efforts, he still found no solution. As he recounted his struggles, he could no longer hold back his tears.
MUHAMMAD HAFIS is the youngest child in the family and has a two-year-old elder brother. His mother remains at home to care for their eldest son and is unable to accompany her husband due to language barriers. AKTAR HUSSEIN admitted that the family's savings have been completely exhausted, and they have no means of raising the RM60,000 required for the surgery. With no other options left, they turned to us for help.
