Case No. 2344: Lee Kwong Long passed away on 5 September 2026 at 9:38 p.m. after doctors were unable to revive him following severe pneumonia with multi-organ failure.
He leaves behind his elderly mother and nephew, Lee Dak Ming, who are now facing funeral expenses that the family is unable to afford.
Four years ago, Lee Kwong Long suddenly lost consciousness while driving, causing his vehicle to crash into the roadside. His young nephew was the only person with him at the time. Despite his condition, he insisted on driving the vehicle safely home before his family accompanied him to the hospital for a medical examination. He was later diagnosed with a mild stroke.
With his mother’s devoted care, he eventually recovered and was able to return to normal life. However, in August this year, he suddenly became unable to move his entire body while at home after suffering another stroke.
This time, his condition deteriorated rapidly and severely. Medical examinations revealed that his kidneys had suffered serious damage and several major blood vessels had ruptured. He was no longer able to care for himself, while his elderly mother was also unable to continue looking after him. With no other choice, the family sent him to a nursing home. At that time, kind-hearted individuals stepped forward to help cover the expenses, easing some of the financial burden on the struggling family.
Last week, staff at the nursing home noticed that Lee Kwong Long was having difficulty breathing. They immediately provided him with oxygen and urgently called an ambulance to take him to the hospital.
After being admitted to the ICU, doctors found a large amount of phlegm in his lungs, and his breathing had become critically unstable. During treatment, his heart stopped beating three times. Unfortunately, the medical staff were unable to save his life despite several attempts at resuscitation.
Lee Kwong Long worked in the renovation industry during his lifetime. He never married and was the eldest of three brothers. Although he had two younger brothers, they were not in frequent contact with one another. In the past, he lived together with his mother and nephew, Lee Dak Ming.
Lee Dak Ming works as a car salesman and earns a modest income. He normally bears the household's daily living expenses, but with the sudden funeral costs, he is simply unable to shoulder the financial burden alone. He has therefore sought assistance from us, hoping to arrange a simple yet dignified farewell ceremony for his uncle.
We will handle the deceased’s funeral arrangements in full, including the body transfer, provision of the coffin, Buddhist prayer and memorial rites, and cremation.

The Buddhist memorial and prayer ceremony will be held on 8 September 2026 (Tuesday) at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlour, Kuala Lumpur (Hall M). The cremation will be on 9 September 2026 (Wednesday), after which the ashes will be handled and placed by the family.
