Case No. 2323: Madam Phua Siew Hong passed away peacefully at 12:06 p.m. on 29 July 2026 at the hospital. According to the medical death report, she passed away due to septic shock secondary to an infected sacral pressure sore.

Two years ago, Madam Phua was hospitalized after suffering a fall and was diagnosed with a stroke. Since then, she had been bedridden and required long-term care. Her condition gradually deteriorated, and she was repeatedly admitted to the hospital for treatment. Towards the end of July this year, her daughter, Wong Mei Chin, noticed that her mother could no longer eat or drink and rushed her to the hospital. Doctors confirmed that she had fallen into a coma due to a severe bacterial infection. Less than a week later, she sadly passed away.

Madam Phua left her retired husband and their two children. She had been living with her husband prior to her passing.

Her daughter, Wong Mei Chin, is a homemaker with her own family to care for. She occasionally earns a small income by making homemade cakes, but the family's financial situation remains challenging. Her son operates a small hawker business and is also responsible for caring for a child with special needs, leaving the family under considerable financial strain.

Madam Phua's sudden passing has brought immense grief to her family. At the same time, they are unable to cope with the unexpected funeral expenses. Hoping to give their beloved mother a dignified farewell, the family has entrusted us to assist with the funeral arrangements and appeals to the kind-hearted public to help her complete her final journey in peace.
