Case No. 2285: We are raising funds to provide her with a special wheelchair, a standard wheelchair, and 50 packs of diapers, amounting to a total of RM2,245. While this may not seem like a large amount, it is truly beyond what this family can afford. We sincerely appeal to kind-hearted people across the nation to extend their support so that Aleesya Maisarah Binti Mohd Syaiful Nizam can continue going to school happily and live with fewer hardships.
She is an unfortunate child who has struggled for survival since birth. While still in her mother’s womb, she suffered from oxygen deprivation and had to be delivered prematurely by caesarean section at just 34 weeks. Shortly after birth, she experienced a perforation in her small intestine and underwent emergency surgery to remove approximately six inches of her bowel. She was then admitted to the intensive care unit, intubated, and depended on a ventilator for an entire month.
[Not just one illness but a lifetime of hardships.]
She has been diagnosed with:
•Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy
•Epilepsy
•Bilateral Tibialis Anterior (TA) Contracture
•Bilateral Hamstring Contracture
•Right Hip Subluxation
At the age of three, she was further diagnosed with Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL).
Over the past 13 years, she has undergone numerous surgeries and more will still be needed in the future. However, with continued rehabilitation after surgery, there is still hope that she may regain some ability to walk.
Her mother, Suziana Binti Saharani (42 years old), is a housewife. As her daughter grows older and heavier, she is no longer able to carry her. Every transfer from the bed to the wheelchair has become an exhausting struggle. Even attending medical appointments now depends on whether her father is available, because no one else is physically able to lift her.
Despite everything, Aleesya is cheerful and understanding. She is the only child in the family. Whenever her mother speaks about her, she breaks down in tears. The more obedient and stronger her daughter is, the more heartbroken she feels.
At only 13 years old, while other children are walking, running, studying, and chasing their dreams, she has already been confined to a wheelchair, deprived of the simple joys of childhood. Each time her mother reflects on the years of pain and suffering her daughter has endured, she cannot hold back her tears.
[Her old wheelchair is damaged, but the family cannot afford a new one.]
Aleesya urgently needs a wheelchair so she can be properly transported for medical treatment and avoid being confined to bed all the time.
The family survives solely on the modest income of her father, Mohd Syaiful Nizam Bin Ishak (42 years old), who works as a salesperson. He simply cannot afford the additional expenses of purchasing wheelchairs and diapers for his daughter and has therefore turned to us for assistance.
After discussion, we decided to launch this fundraising effort to help this brave young girl obtain one special wheelchair, one standard wheelchair, and 50 packs of diapers, with a total cost of RM2,245.
We may not be able to take away her pain, but at the very least, we hope to help her sit more comfortably, move around more easily, and face fewer obstacles in life.
We sincerely appeal for your donations and kindly ask everyone to help share this message so that more compassionate individuals may come forward to help. Thank you.
