Case No. 2279: She is now in urgent need of continued treatment for pneumonia to prevent her condition from deteriorating again. We sincerely appeal to kind-hearted members of the public nationwide to contribute RM15,000 towards her medical expenses and help save this helpless baby.
[Pneumonia nearly claimed her life.]
After developing symptoms including fever, vomiting, coughing, inability to eat, and difficulty breathing, she was brought to the hospital by her parents. Following examination, she was diagnosed with pneumonia and was immediately admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). During the first five days, she remained in a coma with a persistently high fever. At one point, she required cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to save her life. It was not until the sixth day that she finally opened her eyes. For her parents, that moment was nothing short of a miracle.
After spending eight days in the NICU, the baby girl was transferred to a general ward. Her life has been saved, but she still depends on an oxygen tube to breathe and must be fed through a feeding tube.
Because her mother is unable to produce sufficient breast milk, she relies on regular infant formula milk for nutrition. However, she appears to be intolerant to the formula milk, which has caused diarrhoea and resulted in redness and irritation of the skin around her buttocks. Though she is still so young, she is already enduring immense physical suffering and discomfort.
[She survived, but the family cannot afford the medical costs.]
Zai Hlei Lang is the youngest child in the family. She has a six-year-old sister and a four-year-old brother.
Her mother, Lai Ram Par (赖兰帕), aged 29, is a homemaker who stays at home to care for the children. Her father, Sang Hre Lian (商瑞连), aged 28, works part-time as a play area attendant and earns only a modest income. The family of five depends entirely on the father as the sole breadwinner. They had already been living very frugally, and the sudden burden of medical expenses has pushed them into severe financial hardship.
After being transferred to the general ward, the baby continues to be closely monitored and must undergo further treatment for pneumonia in order to recover fully. However, the family is simply unable to afford the cost of treatment. When the father approached us for help, his anxiety was evident. It was the anguish of a father who desperately wants to save his child but lacks the means to do so.
[Please help her get through this critical time.]
We have decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise RM15,000 for baby Zai Hlei Lang’s pneumonia treatment, in the hope of helping her overcome this life-threatening challenge.
We humbly appeal to the public to help this little girl, who has already returned from the brink of death, grow up healthy and strong and one day call out “Daddy” and “Mommy.” Please also help us share this appeal so that more kind-hearted individuals may come forward to lend their support. Thank you.
