Case No. 2267: The elderly, Choong Nooi Meng (Ah Mooi), passed away suddenly. On 17 April, her son, as usual, went to wake her for breakfast but found her breathing heavily, her eyes wide open, unable to speak. Panicked, he immediately rushed her to the hospital.
However, before they could arrive, she passed away in the car. According to the medical report, she passed away at 9:30 a.m. due to hypertension, diabetes, and geriatric disease.
Throughout her life, Choong Nooi Meng raised six children. However, as time has passed, her children are now elderly themselves. Some have suffered strokes, some are unemployed, others are facing financial difficulties, and one has already passed away. As such, the family is unable to bear the sudden funeral expenses.
Her son, Liew Seng Hong (60 years old), is deeply saddened by her passing. It is not that he does not wish to arrange a proper and respectful funeral for his mother, but he is currently unemployed and simply cannot afford the costs. Left with no other option, he has turned to us for assistance.
We will be handling the full funeral arrangements, including body transfer, prayer ceremony, and cremation. The ashes will be managed by the family. We humbly seek donations from the public to help the deceased rest in peace.
At the end of life, what one seeks is simply dignity and a proper farewell. What may seem like a small contribution to us can ensure that this elderly woman’s final journey is not a lonely one and bring some comfort to her grieving family.
If you wish to sponsor or contribute towards the full funeral expenses, please contact the social workers for further details. Thank you.
The prayer ceremony will be held on 20 April (Monday) at the Kwong Tong Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur (Hall I), followed by the cremation on 21 April (Tuesday). The ashes will be entrusted to the family for final placement.
