FUNDRAISING CASE 2215 RENISHKA SREE
Six-month-old Indian baby girl Renishka Sree is a premature infant who once fought bravely at the edge of life and death. She now requires five doses of specialized vaccines for premature babies to protect her life, but her single mother cannot afford the cost of RM18,800. We sincerely appeal to kind-hearted individuals to lend a helping hand and support the baby through this difficult time.
Case No. 2215: Renishka was born at less than 30 weeks, weighing only 935 grams, with her organs not yet fully developed. Immediately after birth, she was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and began her fight for survival. With the dedicated efforts of medical staff, she miraculously pulled through.
[Survived a critical stage, but challenges remain.]
Due to her premature birth, the baby once faced multiple medical challenges, including a small hole in the heart, vision impairment, and lung infection. After six months of treatment, her eye condition has improved and the lung infection is gradually recovering. She can now follow people with her eyes and wave her tiny hands, appearing lively and adorable.
However, the vulnerability caused by premature birth remains. Because of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) risk, even a mild cough could lead to breathing difficulties, and she still requires monthly hospital follow-ups. Doctors emphasize that premature-infant vaccinations are essential to prevent recurring illness.
The baby comes from a single-parent family. Her mother, Laskhmi A/P Ramasamy (39 years old), suffered a fall in the bathroom that caused abdominal pain and bleeding, leading to the premature delivery.
Since then, she has resigned from her job to care for the baby. The family now depends solely on the modest clerical incomes of the baby’s two sisters (aged 23 and 21). During hospital visits, the mother faces language barriers, so the eldest sister, Renooka A/P Subramaniam, accompanies them to appointments.
[Fundraising campaign to help safeguard the baby’s future.
In the face of high vaccination costs, the family is unable to cope financially and has turned to us for help. After discussion, we have decided to launch a fundraising campaign with a target of RM18,800, dedicated to funding five doses of premature-infant vaccines.
This baby has already survived a battle. Please do not let financial hardship become an obstacle to her recovery and future health. Your donation can help build a protective shield for her health, and sharing this appeal can help pass kindness forward.
Let us help this little girl continue to grow and protect the future she fought so hard to have.
