Case No. 2198: His left palm is now wrapped in bandages after repeated injections, a heartbreaking sight for anyone to witness. Yet, when he looks at his injured little hand, there is no fear in his eyes but only innocence and quiet resilience. We humbly appeal for your kindness to help raise RM5,000 in medical expenses, so this brave little fighter can continue battling his illness.
[A sudden illness, a difficult treatment journey.]
Joshua is a young boy from Myanmar. Recently, he suffered from persistent fever and coughing. After visiting multiple clinics with no improvement, he was finally admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with severe pneumonia.
During treatment, his left hand was injured and had to be bandaged due to frequent intravenous injections, while his right hand required repeated blood draws. Each needle prick caused him pain that he could only express through crying, deeply breaking his mother’s heart.
When our social workers visited the hospital, Joshua had just completed a round of treatment. He was sitting quietly on the bed with his big eyes and thick eyebrows, looking incredibly adorable. However, he was extremely dependent on his mother, needing to be constantly held and comforted, unable to bear her absence even for a moment.
Joshua’s mother, Niang En Lun (45 years old), shared with the social workers that the pain and fear caused by the illness have made her child feel deeply insecure. If she steps away even briefly, he cries uncontrollably. As a result, she struggles to find time to eat or even go to the restroom. Despite being physically and emotionally exhausted, she remains by her child’s side.
Her son is still so young, yet he must endure frequent blood tests and injections. How could a mother not feel immense pain in her heart?
[A family of five, supported by a single income.]
Joshua is the youngest child in the family. He has two older brothers, aged 7 and 3. His mother is a full-time homemaker, dedicated to caring for the children. His father, Pau Lian Mang (31 years old), works at a restaurant with daily-wage employment, which is unstable and modest.
The family of five depends solely on the father’s limited and irregular income to survive. With Joshua now hospitalized, the RM5,000 medical cost is far beyond what this family can afford.
They hold refugee identification issued by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), confirming their status as an internationally recognized refugee family.
[Please help him through this difficult time.]
We sincerely appeal for your compassion to help Joshua raise the necessary medical funds. Every contribution brings hope to this helpless family and helps Joshua move closer to recovery, so he may once again show his innocent smile.
We also kindly ask for your support in sharing this appeal, so more kind-hearted individuals may come forward to help. Thank you.
