Two-year-old Lin Zhi Xin is battling a cruel twist of fate. She desperately needs heart surgery to stay alive. But where can her single mother possibly find RM110,000 for her? SKU: Case-2049

Case No. 2049From the moment she was born, Lin Zhi Xin has been fighting for her life. She suffers from a severe congenital heart defect—Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) with serious infundibular and valvular pulmonary stenosis. On top of that, she was also born with multiple congenital abnormalities: bilateral cleft lip and palate, low-set ears, preauricular skin tags on both sides, a flat nasal bridge, short and thick fingers, wide spacing between toes, and even hydrocephalus (fluid in the brain). Each of these conditions alone would be devastating, yet she suffers from all of them at once.

Her heart and cleft issues often cause her breathing difficulties and cyanosis (a bluish skin tone). Her mother says she lives in fear every time her daughter cries, once, just from crying, Zhi Xin fainted. Her heart is far too weak to handle emotional stress. Although she previously had heart stent surgery to ease her breathing, her condition has since worsened. Now, she needs another surgery urgently, or her life is at constant risk.

Due to her fragile health, she needs monthly follow-up visits and daily medication.

[Mother Has Been Fighting Alone for So Long, But She Can’t Do This Alone Anymore]

Zhi Xin’s father left the family and hasn’t been in touch since returning to China. Her mother, Chaw Pooi Wan (37 years old), had no choice but to leave her daughter in the care of elderly parents and go to Singapore to work in a coffee shop. Day after day, she pushes herself, living frugally and working tirelessly, all to give her daughter a chance to live.

Every time she comes home and holds her daughter, her heart breaks. The pain of seeing her child suffer cuts deeper than any physical wound.

During our visit, the mother broke down in tears multiple times. Our team understands her heartbreak. She’s been strong for so long, but this time, she just can’t carry the burden alone. The overwhelming cost of the surgery looms over her like a mountain.

Please help Zhi Xin. The world has already been unkind to her; let us be the ones to offer warmth and kindness. Her mother has never given up. This little girl is still fighting. We cannot stand by and do nothing.

The surgery cost is simply beyond their means. On top of that, her elderly grandparents still need care. Left with no choice, Chaw Pooi Wan turned to us for help. We have agreed to launch a fundraising campaign for them.
