Case No. 1181 : Mother Lee Yoke Fong passed away due to the COVID-19 virus. The 18-year-old daughter asked us for help because she couldn't manage her mother's funeral. Therefore, we would like to ask everyone to donate to deal with Ms. Lee’s funeral service.

The doctor informed the 18-year-old daughter Lim Hui Ern to be prepared when her mother, who was infected with COVID-19 was in critical condition in the hospital, and the hospital judged that it could no longer save her mother's life. She couldn't cope with the funeral expenses as her father had left them 15 years ago, and she has no financial means. Therefore, she can only entrust DaAi to help her to handle the funeral service of her mother.

Lim Hui Ern's mother, Lee Yoke Fong, was diagnosed with COVID-19 on July 11. A few days later, Ms. Lee was in the ICU of Hospital Kuala Lumpur to stay alive on oxygen machines. As her mother is a patient who needs dialysis for a long time, her condition has been worsening after contracting the COVID-19 virus. Even after using 15 liters of high oxygen, she still has difficulty breathing, and her lungs were in horrible condition. Therefore, the doctor informed Hui Ern that her mother would pass away at any time, and asked her to prepare for her mother's funeral.

"I need to deal with my mother's funeral. She is now waiting for the time to pass. I hope DaAi can help me with the funeral after my mother's death." She suppressed her extreme sadness and contacted us for help.

The unfortunate news finally came. Hospital Kuala Lumpur informed Hui Ern that her mother had passed away on July 24 (Saturday), and she needed to go to the hospital to handle the formalities. Hui Ern immediately contacted our social worker. When we went to the hospital, we accompanied her to handle all the formalities and assisted her with her mother's funeral. After her mother's sudden death, she was grief and helpless. She could not contact her father, who had been missing for 15 years, so she could only face the bad news and the boundless future alone.

Lee Yoke Fong worked at a Teochew porridge restaurant in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, for more than 20 years. When Hui Ern accompanied her mother to see a doctor last year, her mother was diagnosed with kidney disease. Since March this year, her mother must have had dialysis three times a week.

Unfortunately, during the dialysis period, her mother was infected with the COVID-19 virus, which caused her to have difficulty breathing. She was admitted to the Hospital Kuala Lumpur on July 11 for treatment. Her mother could only rely on the oxygen machine to survive. However, the doctor told Hui Ern that her mother's condition was not good. She was breathing very hard and could only try 15 liters of high oxygen to save her life. The doctor also said that she could not eat for three days. The doctor used medicine to relieve her breathing difficulties after Hui Ern had a call with her mother, which made her mother feel tired and sleepy.

Although doctors have tried their best, the chances of successfully rescuing patients with severe COVID-19 infections are still very few. According to the death report of the hospital, Lee Yoke Fong passed away at 10.16 am on July 24 due to COVID-19.

We will do our best to give the 18-year-old Hui Ern the greatest support and help, hoping that she will be able to face her future with courage and strength.

Since the remains of COVID-19 were not allowed to be kept for long, we had to send the remains to be cremated immediately before any processes of the funeral. We must strictly abide by the SOP given by the Ministry of Health (KKM) to handle the whole process of his funeral, which included body transfer, cremation, memorial service, and ashes placement.

We call upon everyone to donate for Ms. Lee’s funeral service. If anyone is interested in donation for the whole funeral service or go to worship, kindly contact us for more information. Thank you.

The late Ms. Lee’s ashes are currently placed at Jishantang Rawang strictly following the SOP for prayers and cremation on 4th August 2021 (Wednesday). She will be rested in Kepong Cemetery Tower Kuala Lumpur KA37/7F-18 on 5th August 2021 (Thursday).

We would like to remind everyone to strictly abide by the SOP during this COVID-19 pandemic as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to increase, and the number of deaths in a single day is heading towards 200 cases. We have been entrusted to handle 12 deaths from this disease. Take care and stay safe.
