With a strong will to live, 30-year-old William Hong Huey Lian decided to manage his Facebook on cancer last December and has received RM150,000 for his HSCT operation. However, he requires another RM40,000 to meet the fee, so we would like to help William to achieve this donation and live a healthy life.

William has been diagnosed as having Stage 4 Blood Cancer Precursor T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (T-Cell ALL) (Also known was Leukaemia) in January 2020. He decided to do chemotherapies at Sunway Medical Centre due to its professional and comprehensive equipment (Radio / Chemo / MRI / CT / PET) in May of the same year.

After receiving 7 chemotherapies at Sunway Medical Centre, cancerous cells inside William’s body are almost entirely removed. On the other hand, his bone marrow could not produce blood cells; this requires him to have blood transfusions once every fortnight. The other permanent solution to this is a HSCT operation, but it is almost impossible to find a matched bone marrow for the patient. For instance, William’s sister does not have the matched bone marrow for this operation.

Fortunately, through Singapore Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP), there is a lady living in Thailand who has a 90% matched bone marrow gene and is willing for donation. Hence, William only needs sufficient funds to support surgery fees as well as transportations. According to Sunway Medical Centre’s budget, the surgery fee in Thailand costs RM190,000, including donor’s surgery fee, transportation and check-ups prior and after the surgery.

William has entrusted Da Ai Malaysia to collect charity funds all across the world, including Thailand, on behalf of him. A total of RM40,000 is needed.

Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Da Ai Malaysia calls upon enthusiastic philanthropists to lend a hand to William Hong Huey Lian who is going through hardships. Your donation is highly appreciated as this will help him to overcome these hurdles.
