Case No. 586: Da Ai’s Crowdfunding of RM4,000 for Elderly Single Wan Yow’s Surgery Fee of Kidney Stones Removal.
“Elderly single Wan Yow has stones at his kidney and urethra, causing him to have bloody urine and extreme pain. He needs helps from kind-hearted people for his surgery fee”
Wan Yow is a 68-year-old elderly single. He has gone through a surgery to remove his kidney stones three years ago. However, the surgery did not remove all stones from his kidney; the remaining stones are at his urethra and kidney areas. Thus, he requires a bigger surgery to remove them.
Wan Yow sought medical attention at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) and the doctor diagnosed him with kidney and urethra stones. He must go through a Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) to remove the stones from his body. Nevertheless, this surgery is not within the free surgery scheme of HKL, meaning that Wan Yow has to pay a fee of RM4,000.
After diagnosis, Hospital Kuala Lumpur realised that he also has stones at his left ureter, a situation caused by his kidney stones. This issue gives him difficulty and pain in urinating as well as bloody urine. Even when Wan Yow is not urinating, he suffers from a constant pain and relies upon medications to control his illnesses for years.
Wan Yow once tried laser lithotripsy once a month. Nonetheless, six months later, his conditions did not improve. As he suffers from kidney and urethra stones for years, the illnesses caused him to have a bent right foot and immobility.
Elderly single Wan Yow is staying at Hulu Langat, Selangor. In addition to the extreme pain that he is suffering, he has no jobs, friends, or family members. Before he got sick, he was a blacksmith with a little pay and no savings.
He is receiving a monthly financial aid of RM400 from the Ministry of Welfare; this is also the whole of his income where he pays for his foods and medicines. He cannot afford additional expenses. If he does not have the money for more medicines, he can only wait for the next month’s financial aid.
Wan Yow is suffering an utter pain now; he can only entrust Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Da Ai Malaysia to crowdfund and to collect charity funds all across Malaysia on behalf of him for a surgery fee of RM4,000.
Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Da Ai Malaysia call upon enthusiastic philanthropists to lend a hand to poor Wan Yow who is going through hardships. Your donation is highly appreciated as this will help him to overcome these hurdles.
