“Mommy, will it hurt for a long time again?” 5-year-old leukaemia patient Chong Mei Eng faces a relapse and urgently needs your help!

She is still so young, yet she must endure relentless pain and suffering. She once believed she had defeated the illness, but now her life is once again in danger. This time, not only will she have to undergo more intensive treatment, but the overwhelming medical costs have pushed her family to the brink. We humbly appeal to kind-hearted individuals across the country to generously contribute RM126,610.80 to cover the cost of chemotherapy medication and a bone marrow transplant to help her through this life-threatening battle.

Case No. 2012: Chong Mei Eng longs to run and play like other children. Sadly, the cruel return of leukaemia in just over a year has snatched away her beautiful childhood.

Mei Eng is a lively and adorable little girl. Her smile once brought endless warmth to her family. But now, she is enduring intense pain. She longs to live a healthy life and dreams of running freely under the sun again.

【The devastating news has plunged the entire family into grief and helplessness】

In 2023, Mei Eng was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (B-cell ALL). With the support of the public, she previously received funds for chemotherapy. After more than a year of treatment, her parents thought she was on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, the disease has relapsed. On December 12, 2024, her mother noticed sudden swelling on one side of her face. She couldn’t eat or sleep. Hospital tests brought shocking news—Mei Eng’s condition had progressed to Very Early Combined Relapse B-cell ALL.

Doctors have stated that in addition to chemotherapy, she urgently needs a bone marrow transplant. Without it, her condition will deteriorate rapidly.

【Her family has already given everything they have】

In order to give Mei Eng the treatment she needs, her family has exhausted all their resources. However, the cost of treating her relapsed condition is far beyond their means.

  • Her father, Chong Teck Hin (48), works as an air-conditioning technician in Singapore, earning a modest income to support their family of five.
  • Her mother, Chin Quee Keong (44), is a full-time homemaker who dedicates her time to caring for the children.
  • Mei Eng has two elder sisters—the eldest is 21 years old, and the second is 18 and still in school.

【Every act of kindness from you is a ray of hope for her survival】

Her father is unable to afford the high costs of chemotherapy drugs and the bone marrow transplant. In a state of desperation, the family has once again turned to us for help. Upon learning of her situation, we decided to assist in launching a fundraising campaign for her.

We hope to raise the required funds as soon as possible to give Mei Eng a second chance at life. Every donation, no matter the amount, contributes to saving a precious life. We earnestly ask you to lend a helping hand and join us in protecting Mei Eng, giving her the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong. We also hope you can help spread this message, so more kind-hearted people can come forward to support her. Thank you.
