Case No. 1828: The single mother of baby girl AK BAVANI A/P PERGASAM has gone missing, and the hospital cannot reach her. The baby is now left without support, innocent, and helpless. The hospital hopes Da Ai can aid the poor baby. Due to the urgency of saving a life, we have decided to initiate a crowdfunding campaign in hopes that kind-hearted people nationwide will step forward to help the baby get through this ordeal.
AK BAVANI has been in critical condition since birth, suffering from congenital left diaphragmatic hernia. Due to the severity of her condition, the hospital urgently performed laparoscopic diaphragmatic repair surgery on the baby girl. However, she still faces respiratory difficulties and must rely on a ventilator for breathing.
After the first surgery, doctors discovered that the baby’s intestines were unable to absorb nutrients properly. After careful examination, they diagnosed intestinal swelling and gradual necrosis. A month ago, the baby underwent a second surgery, involving an intestinal resection and colostomy.
Following the surgery, the baby’s wounds did not heal as expected, and infections worsened at the surgical site due to bacterial infection. Just a week after the second surgery, doctors performed a third abdominal surgery to remove necrotic skin. Despite facing numerous life-threatening situations, the baby’s will to survive remains strong, enduring one major surgery after another.
Unfortunately, the baby’s mother, BAVANI, has experienced two failed marriages and is emotionally unstable. She has four children, with the baby girl being her youngest. During BAVANI’s pregnancy, due to her irregular lifestyle and lack of prenatal care, she experienced placental abruptio, necessitating an emergency cesarean section. BAVANI did not observe postnatal care like most women, as she had other children to care for. She went to work just three days after leaving the hospital, neglecting her own health—a truly sympathetic situation.
The hospital’s welfare department has attempted to contact BAVANI several times due to her baby girl’s repeated life-threatening situations, but she is often unreachable.
Currently, the baby girl is still in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for observation, incurring significant medical expenses. However, with her mother missing, the baby has lost her support. The beginning of a new life symbolizes hope and happiness, but the baby’s current situation is deeply worrying.
When the volunteers from Da Ai arrived at the hospital, they saw the baby covered in medical tubes, her tiny mouth silently pleading for help. She is innocent; she did nothing wrong. In that moment, a wave of sadness overwhelmed everyone. Da Ai’s board has decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign to help the baby get through this ordeal and earnestly implores kind-hearted individuals nationwide to assist. We also hope that these kind-hearted individuals will help spread this message to enable more compassionate people to lend a helping hand and help the helpless baby overcome this difficult time.
