A girl with cerebral palsy cannot take care of herself, and we earnestly request donations of RM3,950 to purchase a wheelchair to help her sit properly!

Case No. 1760: Niroshini A/P Vasu, a 9-year-old girl in dire circumstances, urgently needs a custom-made wheelchair to correct her sitting posture and ensure the proper development of her spine. Her father is a person with disabilities, with both hands impaired, and his income is insufficient. Her mother is a homemaker responsible for a family of five, and their impoverished situation makes it impossible for them to afford the wheelchair. We humbly implore kind-hearted individuals to assist them. Thank you.

Niroshini was diagnosed with dyskinetic cerebral palsy due to kernicterus soon after birth. She experiences hypertonic and hyperreflexic conditions in all four limbs. Additionally, she has mild scoliosis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and hearing impairment. Due to her various health issues, Niroshini cannot care for herself and requires constant attention from her mother.

At the age of 9, Niroshini desperately wishes to sit properly and learn to sit and walk like her siblings. Although her road to recovery is incredibly challenging due to her severe conditions, the enthusiastic public can help her start by sitting up. This is not only in response to her silent plea but also to ensure the proper development of her spine. Prolonged periods of lying down are detrimental, and the consequences of worsening scoliosis could be devastating.

During her pregnancy, Niroshini's mother, Rajaletchumy, did not experience any symptoms or abnormalities. However, after giving birth to her daughter, doctors noticed that the baby could not move her limbs as freely as a normal infant, her expression was vacant, and she exhibited irregular twitching. Medical examinations ultimately confirmed that the baby suffered from multiple serious congenital conditions.

Upon learning of their daughter's condition, the couple was devastated. Rajaletchumy and her husband, Vasu, found it difficult to accept the cruel reality, especially as their other children were healthy, but she is the unfortunate one. They sought medical opinions from different hospitals but received consistent results.

Rajaletchumy has dedicated herself to providing unwavering care for their daughter, giving up her job to be with her 24 hours a day. Vasu, despite being a person with disabilities due to an injury to his hands in his youth, is the family's main breadwinner, working diligently to support the entire family. However, his work options are severely limited due to his hand impairment, resulting in minimal and unstable income. Monthly expenses often exceed their income, and they frequently rely on assistance from family and friends to make ends meet.

As their daughter, Niroshini, grows, doctors recommend that Vasu purchase a custom-made wheelchair to support her and help correct her sitting posture, aiding in the development of her spine. Unfortunately, Vasu's meager income leaves him with no means to afford the wheelchair. Upon learning of their plight, we stepped in to help and, with the parents' consent, initiated a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for a custom-made wheelchair that can help correct Niroshini's sitting posture. We earnestly request assistance from kind-hearted individuals across the country.

We also kindly ask everyone to share this request for help so that more compassionate individuals can come forward to lend their support. Thank you.
