Case No. 1714: A helpless and alone elderly woman passed away due to a fall at home. Her nephew, unable to afford sudden funeral expenses, is kindly seeking donations.

71-year-old Ms. Wong Ning Moi was living alone in a small unit in Ampang, Selangor. As her friends were unable to contact her for two days, the landlord opened the door to check on her and tragically discovered she was lying on the floor, and had already passed away. Due to the nephew's limited financial ability to handle the unexpected funeral, we earnestly request the support and assistance of kind-hearted individuals to donate to the funeral so Ms. Wong can rest in peace soon.

Ms. Wong's friend had attempted to call her in the evening of the previous day, but there was no response. Assuming that Ms. Wong had fallen asleep after taking medication, the friend did not disturb her. The following day, when the friend called her again and received no answer, they began to feel uneasy and immediately informed the landlord.

Upon the landlord's arrival, there was no response to knocking on the door, and Ms. Wong did not answer her phone when it rang. The landlord had no choice but to enter the unit and was shocked to find her lying on the floor. The landlord promptly informed the authorities, and when medical staff arrived, they announced Ms. Wong's passing.

According to the death report, Ms. Wong Ning Moi unfortunately passed away on June 4th at 2:50 PM due to a fall caused by old age and frailty.

According to Ms. Wong's nephew, Tong Wey Jie, Ms. Wong was a single mother, and they are unaware of the reasons behind the lack of contact between her and her daughter for many years. Ms. Wong used to work as a clothes ironer when she was young. She had five sisters, all of whom are elderly and retired and are unable to afford the funeral expenses.

Tong Wey Jie, an ordinary accountant, is responsible for taking care of his parents and currently lacks the financial means to handle the funeral for his aunt, Wong Ning Moi. Overwhelmed with grief and helplessness, he seeks help from Da Ai.

We are handling the whole funeral process for Ms. Wong Ning Moi, which includes body transfer, cremation, prayer ceremony, and ashes placement. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so she can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers at Da Ai for more information. Thank you. Ms. Wong Ning Moi's prayer ceremony will be held at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlour (Hall G) in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, followed by cremation on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. The ashes will be placed at Kwong Tong Cemetery Tower.
