Case No. 1688: After undergoing surgery in the hospital, Mr. Ng Tek Yu passed away, and his son is unable to afford the sudden funeral expenses. We earnestly request the help of the enthusiastic public to donate to the funeral.

Mr. Ng Tek Yu, who was 69 years old, was admitted to the hospital for surgery in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, he passed away two days later in the hospital, leaving his son devastated. Due to his low income, he is unable to bear the sudden expenses that came with his father's passing. Therefore, he is kindly requesting donations from kind-hearted people to cope with the funeral so his father can rest in peace soon.

Mr. Ng Tek Yu was a skilled excavator driver. He was diagnosed with a benign tumor just a year ago, but he did not undergo surgery immediately. Unfortunately, his condition worsened recently, and he was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment at around midnight. Doctors thought that the surgery would help him get through the crisis, but he passed away two days later, unexpectedly.

Mr. Ng Tek Yu's son, Ng Kok Leong, said that, based on his understanding, his father passed away due to a heart attack caused by a surgery he had undergone. However, according to the death report, Mr. Ng Tek Yu passed away at 11.30 a.m. on March 12, 2023, due to ischemic bowel secondary to locally advanced rectal adenocarcinoma.

When Ng Kok Leong, a kitchen assistant at a restaurant, heard the unfortunate news of his father's passing, he couldn't help but be overwhelmed with grief when he went to the hospital to see his father's remains. Mr. Ng Tek Yu and his ex-wife have four children together and have been divorced for many years. Ng Kok Leong is the third son, and his eldest brother and youngest brother suffer from severe depression. The eldest brother has no fixed income, while the youngest brother is completely unable to work due to illness. Their second brother passed away at an early age.

Due to his meager income, Ng Kok Leong was unable to afford the sudden expenses of his father's funeral. Feeling helpless and lost, he held back his grief and turned to Da Ai for help with the funeral for his father.

We are handling the whole funeral process, which includes body transfer, cremation, a prayer ceremony, and the return of the ashes to the father's hometown of Ipoh for burial by his son. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate for the funeral so he can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers at Da Ai for more information. Thank you.

Mr. Ng Tek Yu's prayer service will be held at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlor (Hall Q) in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, March 13, 2023, followed by cremation on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. The son will return the ashes to the father's hometown of Ipoh for burial.
