Case No. 1611 : The father Liew Kooi Fiu unfortunately passed away of illness while recuperating in a non-profit nursing home due to a second stroke. The two children have a meager income and cannot afford unexpected funeral expenses. We earnestly request the help of the enthusiastic public to donate to his funeral.

66-year-old Liew Kooi Fiu was a salesman. He had suffered a stroke while working and was already very weak. Although he escaped the catastrophe after the second stroke, he, unfortunately, passed away during the recuperation period. However, his children were poor and unable to handle his funeral. Therefore, we call upon everyone to donate to his funeral so he can rest in peace soon.

The children of the deceased Liew Kooi Fiu were unable to take care of his father because they were busy with work. After their father suffered a stroke for the first time, they sent him to a non-profit nursing home in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, hoping to receive better care. Unfortunately, he suffered a second stroke in the nursing home and injured his brain. The cerebral blood vessels were severely blocked. The doctor told them that even after surgery, their father would not be able to return to normal, so he returned to the nursing home to recuperate, hoping to live a long life.

Unfortunately, at about three in the morning on November 14, the staff of the nursing home found that Liew Kooi Fiu was unresponsive, so they hurriedly called the police and contacted the family. When the medical staff arrived, it was confirmed that Liew Kooi Fiu had passed away.

According to the death report issued by the Health and Environment Department of the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL), Mr. Liew Kooi Fiu passed away due to geriatric disease at 3 am on November 14.

Liew Kooi Fiu's wife passed away many years ago and they have two children. The daughter earns a meager income by selling bread to support her living. His son Liew Zhean Zhaan already has a family. He is an employee of a car wash. Due to his meager income and difficult life, he could not afford the unexpected funeral expenses of his father. The nursing home for the elderly did not have the financial capacity to undertake the funeral of the deceased too. Therefore, Liew Zhean Zhaan asked us for help and entrusted us to handle the funeral of his father.

We are handling the whole funeral process of Mr. Liew Kooi Fiu, which includes body transfer, cremation, Christian memorial ceremony, and scatter the ashes into the sea according to the wishes of his children. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate for the funeral so he can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers of Da Ai for more information. Thank you.

The Christian memorial ceremony for Mr. Liew Kooi Fiu will be held on 15th November 2022 (Tuesday) at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlour Kuala Lumpur (Hall R), and the cremation will be held on 16th November 2022 (Wednesday). The ashes will then be scattered into the sea, return the deceased to the embrace of nature.
