Case No. 1580 : After the son passed away, the sick old mother was unable to handle her son's funeral. We earnestly request the help of the enthusiastic public by donating to the funeral. Thank you.

47-year-old Chong Yew Wei suffered from Down's syndrome since childhood. Unfortunately, he passed away in a non-profit disability center, leaving his old mother with Parkinson's disease unable to handle his funeral. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral.

It is heartbreaking as no parents want to outlive their children. Not only that the old mother suffers from Parkinson's disease, which is a common neurological disease of the elderly, and could not take good care of herself, but also have no financial ability to afford her son's funeral. We request the help of the kind public so that the mother can send off her dearest son.

Mr. Chong Yew Wei's father has long since passed away, leaving his mother to live alone. As the mother's life is very difficult, she can't take care of her son with Down syndrome. In desperation, she sent him to a non-profit disability center many years ago. His only siblings were his only sister, who was living a very difficult life and could only visit his mother occasionally.

On September 29, the staff of the disability center found that Mr. Chong Yew Wei was unresponsive and did not wake up, so he quickly called the police. When the medical staff arrived, it was confirmed that he had passed away.

According to the death report issued by the hospital, Mr. Chong Yew Wei passed away at 11.58 am on 29th September 2022 due to Pneumonia with underlying Down Syndrome.

Since this non-profit nursing home usually lies on donations from enthusiastic public to take care of the unfortunate elderly, it cannot afford the funeral expenses. The elderly mother did not have a job and could not afford the unexpected funeral expenses of her son too, so she entrusted Da Ai to handle the funeral.

We are handling the whole funeral process of Mr. Chong Yew Wei, which included body transfer, cremation, prayer service, and ashes placement. We sincerely call upon everyone to donated for the funeral so he can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers of Da Ai for more information. Thank you.

The prayer service will be held on 3rd October 2022 (Monday) at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlour Kuala Lumpur (Parlour K), and the cremation will be held on 4th October 2022 (Tuesday). The ashes will then be placed at Chee Wan San Temple.
