Case No. 1509

Ms. Leong Woon Mei passed away in hospital due to her illness. However, her only daughter was unable to cope with unexpected funeral expenses. Therefore, we earnestly request the help of the enthusiastic public by donating for Ms. Leong’s funeral.

78-year-old Ms. Leong Woon Mei has three highs, a weak heart, and breathing difficulties. She also has severe diabetes and a sore under her butt that is hard to heal. Moreover, because of the inconvenience of walking, she could only rely on her buttocks to support her body to move, which caused the wound to fester more seriously. It is really heartbreaking.

Her only daughter, Ms. Lee, told us that she is usually taking care of her mother and cleaning her wounds. Just over a week ago, her mother had difficulty breathing and her wounds festered badly, so she had to send her mother to the hospital for treatment. The doctor said that the mother's heart and kidneys were very weak, and the sores on her buttocks had been infected with bacteria. Although the doctor had done his best, the sad thing was that her mother was unable to fight the disease and passed away in the hospital on the 27th of July.

According to the death report issued by the hospital, Ms. Leong Woon Mei passed away at 3.02 pm on July 27 due to Sepsis secondary with infected sacral sore.

Ms. Lee told us that during the pandemic over the past two years, she lost her accounting job and living difficultly, but the kind boss let her and her mother live in the home where he put the goods. Although the MCO has been lifted, she is not young and has difficulty finding a job. Now she can only take some sporadic accounting jobs to support her life. She really have no ability to handle the funeral of her mother. In desperation, she can only entrust Da Ai to help.

We are handling the whole funeral process for the deceased, which included body transfer, cremation, prayer service, and ashes placement. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate for her funeral so she can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers of Da Ai for more information. Thank you.

The prayer service will be held on 29th July 2022 (Friday) at Kwong Tong Parlour Kuala Lumpur (Hall I), and the cremation will be held on 30th July 2022 (Saturday). The ashes will then be placed by her daughter at Gui Yuan Funeral Crematorium Petaling Jaya.
