Case No. 1436

The elderly mother had been lying in bed unable to take care of herself for more that two years, and unfortunately passed away before being sent to the hospital due to the deterioration of the geriatric disease. Her daughter has to take care of six children and the burden is too heavy to cope with unexpected funeral expenses. Therefore, we earnestly request the help of everyone be donating for the funeral.

The deceased, 73-year-old Ms. Lee Soi Kiew, has been living in Kuala Lumpur with her second daughter. The second daughter is a housewife. She has to take care of an elderly and sick mother and 6 children. The living expenses of a family of 9 are all supported by her husband who is a construction worker. Because of the meager income of her husband, their lives are very difficult.

In the past, due to the impact of the MCO, construction factories were closed, and their lives were even more difficult. We visited them and provided material assistance to them before. Unexpectedly, after more than a year, Ms. Lee Soi Kiew passed away.

Ms. Lee Soi Kiew has been in and out of the hospital many times because of sores on her back due to lying in bed for a long time, leading to bacterial infection. On May 13, the second daughter, Wong Way Lim, found that her mother suddenly had difficulty breathing and was incontinent. Therefore, she hurriedly informed her sisters, but then found that her mother had passed away.

According to death report issued by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Ms. Lee Soi Kiew passed away at 5.30 pm on 13th May 2022 due to geriatric disease.

Lee Soi Kiew has three daughters and has been living with her second daughter, Wong Way Lim. The eldest daughter and the youngest daughter also had their salaries reduced due to the pandemic. They also have their family burdens, and their lives are difficult too. As they have no financial ability to handle the funeral of their mother, so they entrusted Da Ai to help.

We are handling the whole funeral process for Ms. Lee, which included body transfer, cremation, memorial service, and ashes placement. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate for her funeral so she can rest in peace soon. If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers of Da Ai for more information. Thank you.

The late Ms. Lee Soi Kiew’s remains are currently placed at Kwong Tong Cemetery Park Kuala Lumpur (Room K) for prayer service on 16th May 2022 (Monday). The cremation will be held on 17th May 2022 (Tuesday), and the ashes will be placed at Kwong Tong Cemetery Tower.
