Case 1400

A husband, Wong Kok Keong (42) who suffered a stroke and cerebral hemorrhage, ended up in a coma after a brain surgery for nearly half a year leaving behind a wife and a small baby. His wife is no longer able to cope with her husband’s upcoming year’s care expenditures which includes special formula, follow-up doctor visits and medical supplies. Calling-out to all kindhearted individuals across the nation to render financial help to this needy family.

The wife, Chang Tau Fung (41), is looking forward to her husband’s recovery and will never leave her husband no matter what. She has been working hard making a meager income to keep this family afloat. The little baby who is not even 1-year-old, has just attained 7 months old. The mother-in-law is in her golden age without any income. The family of four live in a government flat apartment located in a side area of Kuala Lumpur trying to make ends meet.

The wife has been carrying the main responsibilities to feed the family on her own for a period of time. Since she has exhausted all available savings and there is no other alternatives to carry on, she is now in distress of collapse. Nevertheless, for her faith and the sake of her newly built family she is determined to persevere no matter how hard the road ahead.

Prior to the tragedy, her husband Wong Kok Keong (42) used to be a self-employed entrepreneur who made marinated chicken chop whereas she is a beautician herself. Life had been hard for them owing to the impact of the pandemic lockdown.

Wong Kok Keong is a loving family man. He cared about his wife so he used to wake up in the middle of the night to help prepare milk and feed his baby. Unfortunately, during that night when he was in the midst of making bottle milk, he suddenly went through a blank of mind then he fell and knocked his head. He was then rushed to the hospital. Subsequent to a brain surgery which attempted to treat his cerebral hemorrhage conditions, he has never wakened up ever since.

When the wife placed the baby on her husband’s body trying to wake up his daddy, Wong Kok Keong seemed to have heard it and his fingers and toes appeared to make some reaction. However, he could not open his eyes to take a look and hold his cuddly child. Such miserable scene would surely touch anybody who observes it.

Wong Kok Keong had always been working hard to provide for his family and his elderly mother. After he has fallen, the family seems to be deprived of laughter and sunshine. Chang Tau Fung then took up the obligation on behalf of her bedridden husband. In addition to looking after her small baby, she now has to provide care for her husband and support the whole family. The situation is indeed difficult for her.

The mother-in-law is in her golden age without any income. She currently helps to take care of her bedridden son and little baby grandson at home. Whenever she thinks of the passing of her belated partner recently plus the situation of his unconscious son, she could not help it but burst into tears.

Chang Tau Fung has become the sole breadwinner of the family. She is having a really hard time trying to cope with such sudden blow in her life. Yet, she still carries the faith that her husband will awaken someday. While waiting, she needs the public to donate funding of special milk formula, follow-up doctor visits and medical supplies. She desperately needs assistance to keep holding on.

Eventually, Chang Tau Fung resorted to seeking help from Da-Ai. Da-Ai has been entrusted to handle a crowdfunding campaign to raise RM57,600 for her husband’s 1-year’s expenses.

The breakdown is as follows: -

Special Formula: RM2,800 x 12 months = RM33,600

Follow-up doctor visits and medical supplies: RM2,000 x 12 months = RM24,000

Total for 1 year: RM57,600

Wong Kok Keong is currently bedridden and he requires tube-feeding. He is taking two types of special formula, one contains high-quality fibre and the other one provides high-whey protein. The cost of 2 cans is RM192 which can only last for 2 days the most.

We call upon all generous and kind individuals across the nation to come together and help so the needy family can be relieved from life challenges and the wife can be assured of the future.

We also hope that everyone can do your part to share and forward this message so that more people can come in to help. Your kind gesture is much appreciated.
