Case 1399

An elderly woman who lived alone, Yap Choon Moi (72), was discovered dead in her premise a number of days after her death. Her body was found unattended to. We sincerely urge all enthusiastic individuals across the nation to chip in for Madam Yap’s funeral expenses so to allow her to rest in peace and to proceed to the afterlife.

The 72-year-old elderly appeared to have no children who used to live alone at a space above a shoplot. Her silent leaving indeed left behind infinite sadness and mourning.

The incident began with a friend of Madam Yap's who could not contact the latter for some time thus she went over to check out her house. However, her efforts came to no avail when even the eateries in the neighborhood had no idea of her whereabouts.

After a further of couple days without news plus the unreachable phone line, the concerned friend decided to report to police. When they all arrived at the premise staircase, they realized something not right as they smelled a gust of stench disseminating from upstairs. Once they pried the door open, they learned that Madam Yap had already passed away.

The body was sent for laboratory work and the death certificate issued by the hospital shows that Madam Yap Chun Moi died at 4.45pm on 02 April 2022 as a result of Coronary Artery Disease.

After much efforts, we eventually got in touch with Madam Yap’s family members. She had two sisters and three brothers. However, all siblings are in their golden age and have already retired. Da-Ai is then assigned to handle the entire funeral proceedings on their behalf.

Since the body condition does not allow further delays, Da-Ai will make arrangements to cremate the body first before other follow-up matters. We urge everybody to render your help through donations so Madam Yap’s funeral can be done and she can rest in peace.

We are currently handling the entire funeral process which includes body claiming, cremation, Buddhist rituals and handling of ashes. Those who are keen to sponsor the funeral expenses may contact Da-Ai Crowdfunding Community for more details. We would be sincerely grateful.

A Buddhist Transcendence ceremony for Madam Yap will be held on April 18 (Monday) at Parlour 3 of Gui Yuan Crematorium, Petaling Jaya whereas the ashes willj be scattered into the sea as per the will of her family members.

May Madam Yap be embraced by the mother nature and her soul rest in peace.
