Case No. 1381 : 83-year-old single elderly, Ms. Wong Chin Keou, passed away in the hospital. Since her nephew had to bear the living expenses of the family of s eight, his income is meager and he was unable to cope with the unexpected funeral expenses. Therefore, we earnestly request the help of everyone by donating for the funeral expenses of Ms. Wong Chin Keou.

The childless Ms. Wong Chin Keou lived with her sister’s family in Kuala Lumpur. Her nephew Mr. Gan told us that last month Ms. Wong fell at home and was sent to the hospital by his family for treatment. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus too.

Ms. Wong Chin Keou had to rely on an oxygen tube to breathe for up to 15 days. After the treatments given by doctor, she got better and seemed that she could be discharged soon. However, she was weak and her condition was on and off, which caused her to stay and be treated in the hospital for nearly a month.

Originally, the hospital said that Ms. Wong Chin Keou could be discharged on March 18, but Mr. Gan received sudden bed news from the hospital that Ms. Wong had difficulty breathing. When Mr. Gan arrived at the hospital, it was too late for him to take his aunt on her last journey, Although she defeated the COVID-19 virus, she passed away due to physical weakness. It was really heartbreaking.

According to the death report issued by the University Malaya Medical Centre, Ms. Wong Chin Keou passed away in the hospital at 3.33 p.m. on March 18 due to Acute Coronary Syndrome.

Mr. Gan said that he has an elderly mother, and he has to take care of 4 children. He can’t take care of his aunt (Ms. Wong Chin Keou), so he has found a nursing home for her, hoping to give her better care. Unfortunately, Ms. Wong passed away.

Mr. Gan alone has to shoulder the living expenses of a family of eight, and due to the impact of epidemic, he has also faced economic difficulties. Since he was unable to cope with the unexpected funeral expenses, in desperation, he entrusted us to handle the funeral of Ms. Wong Chin Keou.

We are handling the whole process of Ms. Wong’s funeral, which included body transfer, cremation, memorial service, and ashes placement. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate for her funeral so she can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral of Ms. Wong, kindly contact any social workers of Da Ai for more information. Thank you.
