Calling out to all kindhearted people across the country to pull together a fund to cover bereavement expenses for 80-year-old elderly woman Ng Sock Hwa and allow her to embark on another pasture through the guidance from Jesus Christ.

Prior to her passing, member Ng used to live alone in the old folks home with no family members nor relatives caring for her. Her only foster-son could not afford to provide for the funeral due to his financial situation thus wishing that the public could extend a helping hand so member Ng could receive a proper bereavement proceeding and rest in peace.

Member Ng Sock Hwa had been living in a nursing home located in Cheras for a long period of time. Unfortunately, she was infected with COVID and then was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite a series of care and treatment, she passed away during her course of treatment in the hospital.

According to the person in charge in nursing home, member Ng was living in poverty without family members nor relatives taking care of her. Her only foster-son, Mr Lew had done his best to allocate her in the nursing home through some charity organization so there could be someone looking after her.

Prior to her demise, member Ng had expressed her will to let her foster-son handle her afterlife matters. When Mr Lew was notified of the bad news, he was overwhelmed with grief and sadness. However, he is not able to cope with such sudden expenses since he is working as a clerk which pays little. Hence, he decided to seek help from the public through Da Ai.

As guided in the Death Registrar of Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, member Ng died of COVID-related complications on March 15th (Tuesday) at time 3.39am.

We have been assigned to handle the whole funeral process on behalf of member Ng. For COVID cases, the SOP requires the body to be cremated before other rituals can be carried out. Workflow of body retrieval, casket placement and any religious rituals must strictly abide by the COVID SOPs. Those who are keen to contribute to this deed may contact Da Ai community for more details. Your kindness and sincerity are much appreciated.

A Christian memorial ceremony will be held at ‘Parlour P’ of Kwong Dong Cemetery for member Ng on March 17th 2.00pm whereas the funeral procession shall take place on March 18th (Friday). Her ashes will be scattered at the sea as per the foster-son’s decision. May member Ng ascend to eternal life in the blessings of Lord Jesus Christ.
