On June 27th, Gan Li Ping, who lives in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur, went to KLCC Vaccination Center with her parents to get the first dose of the vaccine. She thought that they should be protected after the vaccination, but she didn't expect her mother, Ms. Yap, to feel unwell and have fever and vomiting in the first week. As she thought it was just the side effect of the vaccination, so she didn't care too much. Until July 17th, her mother's condition became serious, and she had breathing difficulties and was unwell. However, Ms. Yap didn't dare to tell her family about her situation, because she was afraid of causing trouble to her family, so she sat in the living room all night and couldn't sleep. The next morning, on July 18th, the family found out that Ms. Yap's condition was very serious. After further questioning, they knew that Ms. Yap hadn't slept all night because of breathing difficulties. They hurriedly called for an ambulance, but Ms. Yap passed away before the ambulance arrived. According to the death report from the Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Ms. Yap passed away at home on July 19 (3.05 pm) due to COVID-19..

After her mother passed away, Gan Li Ping and her father and brother went to have a swap test and found that she and her father had also been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus, only her brother was not infected, which made them fear and worry. Now their whole family is quarantined, and her father's condition is critical. Such a sudden incident makes the family very sad, and they are unable to cope with the funeral expenses. Therefore, we would like to ask everyone to donate to deal with Ms. Yap's funeral service.

When our social worker received this call for help, Gan Li Ping was about to collapse. She is only 21 years old, and she didn't know what to do now. She was diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus, her mother passed away, and her father’s condition is critical now. Since she and her brother need to quarantine, they can't do anything at all. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the originally happy family is about to be destroyed, our social workers are very shocked and sad. We just hope that they can live safely, and come across the difficulty. Therefore, we decided to help them deal with Ms. Yap's funeral. We would also like to ask everyone to donate and help them together.

Since the remains of COVID-19 were not allowed to be kept for long, we had to send the remains to be cremated immediately before any processes of the funeral. We must strictly abide by the SOP given by the Ministry of Health (KKM) to handle the whole process of his funeral, which included body transfer, cremation, memorial service, and ashes placement. If anyone is interested in donation for the whole funeral service, kindly contact us for more information. Thank you.

The late Ms. Yap’s ashes are currently placed at Jishantang Jinjang Kuala Lumpur (Room 6) strictly following the SOP for prayers on 30th July 2021 (Friday). She will be rested in Kepong Cemetery Tower Kuala Lumpur KA37/8F-20 on 31st July 2021 (Saturday).

We call upon everyone to donate for Ms. Yap’s funeral service. We would also like to remind everyone no matter where you are, including when you go to get the vaccine, you must first protect yourself and be careful. Even after two doses of the vaccine are completed, the SOP must be strictly followed, because the virus is everywhere, and places with a lot of people are more dangerous. Take care and stay safe.
