Case No. 1075: Donation for the Funeral Service of Late COVID-19 Patient, Yap Youb Yen.

56-year-old Ms. Yap lived at an old folks' home before her passing due to the COVID-19 virus. Her body was left unclaimed at the hospital mortuary; hence the old folks’ home has entrusted us to fully manage her funeral service. We would like to ask everyone to donate for her funeral service.

Sungai Buloh Hospital, the government’s designated hospital for COVID-19 treatment issued a death certificate stating coronavirus as the cause of Ms. Yap’s passing. Therefore, remains of Ms. Yap were not allowed to be kept for long; The staff had sent them for cremation on 3rd May 2021. A few days’ time were required to ensure the safety and to obtain the approval from the Ministry of Health before today’s prayers and cremation placement.

Due to COVID-19 being the cause of death, we must strictly follow the SOP given by the Ministry of Health (KKM) throughout the entire process. Staff are required to equip themselves with full protections prior to picking up the remains. The coffin had to be sealed with gel sealant and sanitised before sending off for cremation. The entire process of remains transfer and cremation were carried out under the supervision of Ministry of Health officials.

The late Ms. Yap Youb Yen passed away in Sungai Buloh Hospital at 10.05 P.M., 1st May 2021. As there were no family members, the dean of the old folks’ home entrusted us to handle the funeral procedure, which included body transfer, cremation, ashes interment, etc. We welcome anyone who would like to donate.

If you are interested in financing the whole funeral service, kindly contact us for more information. Thank you.

The late Ms. Yap’s ashes are currently placed at Jishantang Rawang. According to the SOP, prayers and cremation will be proceeded on 6th May 2021 (Thursday). She will be rested in Kwong Tong Cemetery Tower Kuala Lumpur on 7th May 2021 (Friday).

We call upon everyone to donate for Ms. Yap’s funeral service. We would like to remind everyone to strictly abide by the SOP during the COVID-19 pandemic. Take care and be safe.
